ID # BAU0088 SHORT BATCH DESIGNATION: AB TITLE: The Poems of William of Shoreham ED. M. Konrath SERIES: Early English Text Society ES 86 (1902). SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS En-face? NO. Key and code the following pages: Title page (recto and verso) = pp. [iii]-[iv] Text = pp. 1-160. Structure This text consists of a seven poems to be recorded as first-level divisions: <DIV1 TYPE="Poem">. The first poem is also subdivided. In general, if a subdivision is equipped with a heading, treat it as a <DIV>; but some sections without headings will also need to be treated as <DIV>s for consistency's sake, e.g. on pp. 53 and 75 (see below). Some of the other poems (nos. 4 and 5) have been partially subdivided by the editor, using roman numerals attached to the stanza number, but we will ignore those. Treat these as simplex characters, i.e. as simple "d" "t" "g" "k" and "h" respectively. The font used by this edition seems to lack an italic "thorn" character and an italic "yogh" character; the printer instead used ordinary thorns and yoghs. If apparently non-italic thorns and yoghs appear in words that are otherwise italicised, treat the whole word as italicised.
