<LG>s
All or most subdivisions (with heads) can be handled
with line-groups.
Milestones
Most folio references appear at the edge of the text in
small type, like this:
Fol. 119a = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="119a">
Fol. 120a = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="120a">
Fol. 121a = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="121a">
Fol. 122a = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="122a">
Fol. 109 = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="109">
Fol. 109b = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="109b">
Fol. 110 = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="110">
Fol. 53a = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="53a">
Fol. 45 = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="45">
Fol. 94b = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="94b">
A few may appear differently. E.g. in the last <DIV2> in the
last <DIV1>, folio references appear in brackets within the
text, like this:
[f.73] = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="73">
[f.73b] = <MILESTONE UNIT="folio" N="73b">
Notes
Most notes appear at the foot of the page, linked to the text
by a superscripted footnote number. Record these as usual
with <NOTE PLACE="foot">
Some sections (in the appendix) have introductory paragraphs.
Treat these as <NOTE PLACE="head"> and place the note at the
end of the heading for that section.
There are a few exceptional notes, like the block of variants
on p.7. Treat this one as a single note, containing a single
paragraph (<P>), placed at the end of the preceding <DIV2>.
Special
In the first <DIV1> there is some prose mixed up with the verse.
Record this as prose (with <P> etc.).
The last <DIV2> of the last <DIV1> uses the pipe character. Record
this as usual with a character entity, since we are reserving
the literal pipe character (|) for end-of-line hyphens.
